THE D E S I G N PROCESS //
Penland Design specializes in visual communication through story telling; using problem-solving solutions with typography, space, image, and color to produce business identities, logos, branding, and advertising, products and services.
The Value of Penland Design is that I only take on one client at a time. This means you get the first and best of all my skills.
After you’ve booked your project, I will send you the creative platform to fill out. This questionnaire gets to the heart of your brand, its style, preferences, and goals.
The second step in my design process is to create a mood board. This is a collection of inspirational images that will serve as a starting point for your brand identity.
03_NAMES AND TITLES
Before Logos can be worked on it is important to have a name, a tag-line, a mission-statement, a vision-statement, and the aspirational statement.
Once the mood is correctly established I can move into phase three of the process, The Logo Sketches. This is usually every clients favorite part. You will receive a number of different logo designs to chose from (that number depends on which package you choose.) They will be based off of the key words, the values, and goals you filled out in the creative platform. Logo concepts usually have three rounds of design, and one finalized round. This will also include the “Kit-of-Parts” or branding elements; alternative logo or sub-mark, patterns, textures, illustrations, font selection, and style guide.
There are many collateral items that can be developed for your brand. For examples, business cards, posters, stamps, stickers, flyer’s, invoice designs, contracts, print or social media. You will have your choice depending on chosen package.
After the solid foundation of your brand is created, the next step is to get your business onto your new website. Your website will be created through one of these three options: full web design WordPress, or Square Space platform which allows for easy updates by you, after the design process is completed. We’ll add any blog points or e-commerce, depending on your business needs. Unless otherwise specified.
You Brand Identity and all its Kit of Parts, the logo, variations of the logo, color pallet, patterns and textures, fonts, mood-boards, website, and the brand strategy guide will be packaged up into digital files, then stored on Drop Box for you to download.
